| Winter Camp '97 Camp Whittle | |
| This was our first Indian Guide campout, and it was terrific. It took place at Camp Whittle, up at Fawnskin on Big Bear Mountain. The snow drifts were up to 4 feet deep. We had a great time playing in the snow, but nothing can beat the toboggan rides down the hill. On the down side, our bathroom had the foulest odor I have ever smelled in my life. And it was a total broken-down mess. The cabin was over-heated, and together with the heat, positive ions, thin air, the sweat and exhalations of 5 men and 5 boys, and the raucous symphony of snoring (including Joey's apnea), well, sleep was nearly impossible. I am, however, prepared for next year (we're sleeping in the van!) | |
