Winter Camp '97
Camp Whittle

This was our first Indian Guide campout, and it was terrific. It took place at Camp Whittle, up at Fawnskin on Big Bear Mountain. The snow drifts were up to 4 feet deep. We had a great time playing in the snow, but nothing can beat the toboggan rides down the hill.

On the down side, our bathroom had the foulest odor I have ever smelled in my life. And it was a total broken-down mess. The cabin was over-heated, and together with the heat, positive ions, thin air, the sweat and exhalations of 5 men and 5 boys, and the raucous symphony of snoring (including Joey's apnea), well, sleep was nearly impossible. I am, however, prepared for next year (we're sleeping in the van!)
